Renting a friends place so re-wiring is going to be a bit of a problem.

 

Satellite reception is ok thanks to a teak of the LNB Skew, but UHF is a bit patchy. Should be OK based on location but I appear to be getting an echo from either Pinehill or Sky as I'm seeing two Mediaworks multiplexes

Other than asking the landlord to get an installer in any recommendations on tweaking the alignment of the aerial etc?

yes one mux is from waiatarua the other from pinehill check general direction of aerial either west or east approx then manual tune the one you want and check strength and quality on tv. waiatura is 570 pinehill is 560 see how you get on.
