Hey Guys,
Just wondering if anyone's used one of these tuners for terrestrial Freeview and got it working?

I tried using the software that came with it, as well as GB-PVR, but could only get the EPG coming through..

I note on the link you provided that it says NZ Freeview is available with additional software. You are going to need an MPeg 4 player (such as Twinhan's Blue Azure) at the very least. The software options are well discussed in numerous threads on this site.  At the very least what you have should be able to tune the digital terrestrial stations even if it can't record or play them.
