Where the #$%% did my post go! I typed in a comprehensive post and it disappeared. Most probably it will appear mysteriously somewhere else. Oh well here I go again....

I'm a newbee FreeViewer with a Dish S8200 Satellite recorder

1. I can resequence/hide the channels successfully. This sequence is followed when I hit the channel-up and channel-down buttons. But the Guide is still in the weird Freeview sequence. Can I change the Guide sequence?

2. I can see both Prime and Prime+1 when I do the resequence but Prime+1 does NOT appear in the Guide. This means I cant setup to record it. I can, if I go Menu>EPG>Weekly but not MHEG or the standard Guide button. (I think "Weekly" is the Dish Guide and MHEG is the FreeView Guide?).

Have you tried turning it off, and then turning it back on again?

Lazy is such an ugly word, I prefer to call it selective participation

I have tried registering with FreeView online - entered my details, got a message back saying they have sent me an email with a link that I should click on to complete my verification/registration. The email never arrives. Any ideas?

1) I'm fairly sure the answer to 1 is No, the guide layout is fixed, it is not dynamic based on how you rearrange the channels on your receiver,

2) last time I looked Prime +1 is not an "official" freeview channel, its an unencrypted sky channel that you can also receive via a freeview receiver,  So that is why it does not have any guide information data..

- now you will say they should just replicate the Prime data and add +1, but I suspect the agreement they have with Sky over the provision of Prime means they can only use provided EPG data, and cannot "modify" it

https://www.primetv.co.nz/prime-plus-1

Prime PLUS 1 will be available on channel 514 in SD (standard definition). Closed captioned programmes will be available on Prime PLUS 1. As Prime PLUS 1 is a digitally broadcast channel, a number of Freeview Satellite customers (Freeview Satellite DTH, or Direct To Home transmission only) will also be able to manually tune their receiver to Prime PLUS 1.

Thanks for that, questions 1&2 resolved.

The other question I asked referred to registering with FreeView when in fact I was trying to register with FreeViewForum.co.nz.

I managed to get hold of an actual person at FreeView who has referred my question to the appropriate support person at the Forum.

But if you have any ideas, help is most welcome.

Brian
