This is an odd one. We have a Panasonic DMR-HWT260 and of late is has decided that it will not do series link on TV2, it will do it OK on TV2+1 ok.Series links on all other channels work fine. I have cleared all series links off the machine and cleaned up the HDD. It is patched to the latest firmware and has excellent signal strenght.I have rescanned all channels.  It is connected to UFB per Cat6.

Any ideas folks

I don't think it's you - I've got a pwt560 and occasionally it'll bounce series link recording from the 'main' channel to the 'plus+1' for no apparent reason (did it just last night with a series link on 'The Block' - wife wondered why it wasn't available to chase-watch, checked the guide and could see for last night only it'd decided to record it on 3+1). I'm suspicious it's either bad metadata in the EPG and/or bugs in the code on the panasonic parsing it

I've got a Pana recorder too (cant remember model, has a blu ray player in it).

Did the same thing with the Block last Sunday - recorded it on the +1 so I couldn't chase watch it (the only way to watch the Block, otherwise too many ads and repeats of what happened before the ads straight after the ads).

We have the 840 Panasonic box and random +1 recording has always been a major irritation of mine.

It can happen for no reason, mid way through a season, you get a random +1 recording and of course you have lost the HD'ness.

I have got into the habit before settling down to watch the evening entertainment to look in the upcoming recordings and checking to see if any have dropped back to the +1 option.  Its surprising how often it happens, and many shows i have to delete from the upcoming planner and reselect from the TV guide.

The joys of owning a Panasonic I guess....

I don't want no sugar in it - thank you very much

Not sure that this is a panasonic problem but more likely an epg problem as I have the same issue with my old magic tv 3600 as well. Frustrating to say the least....

Panasonic DMR-HWT760 here and exactly the same issue - recording on the +1. Most recently on TV1 news. We still have our Tivo, but my better half likes watching on the Panasonic because she can get through it at 1.3 x the speed...

From memory it started about two weeks ago if that is significant. I wonder if there were any changes buy Freeview at that time.

When I dive deep into the timer record settings it says there are no 7 days  programme details for One,Two and three but these are present for the +1's, Duke, Choice etc. I wonder if this has anything to do with the latest update for Freeview which of course the Panasonic does not have and based on history will not get. Is there anyway of forcing the system to pick up that information?

I am considering dumping the Panasonic and using On Demand on the TV to catch up on any free to air I may miss. I may decide to put together my own system but that will take some thought as I am a bit of a novice in that area.

I would be totally lost without mine as I almost record everything I like and play later when it suits add free. My Samsung smarty hasnt got the On Demand feature yet...as its about 7 years old. I suspect it will not get it, and I doubt the Panasonic PVR will ever get it.

Its appalling we are so poorly served in this country with choices for PVR/set top boxes.

I agree the choice here is terrible and the Dish TV offering are not really a choice they are garbage. I may do a quick and dirt stop gap and and add a hard drive to the TV but with a single tuner it is not really a solution.
