Oki Doki Folks, what FTA Channels can I get using a Sky Dish with a Twin Throat LNB, the dish I believe is 65cm and was installed 3 years ago.
What satallites can I scan and expect some thing off.
If this does not work do I need a larger dish or a different LNB.

I am new at this game, so your help is appreciated.

your LNB points at Optus C1 and D1.

There is not a lot of other unencrypted programming other than Freeview on either satellite to be honest.  Optus Aurora is on C1, but you need to have a smartcard to get this, which you can't obtain, as NZ is not in the area for this.

Here is what is on each satellite, baring in mind that not all transponders are visable in NZ.  We can only see NANZ on C1 for example.

Optus D1

Optus C1

Optus D2
has a lot more stuff on it, but unless you're into ethnic programming or God, there's not a lot of interesting stuff on there.  You'd need to move your dish to see this as well, not an easy job for a newbie.

Hi - I hope someone may still be watching this thread.  Would it be possible to rotate the dual LNB bracket so the 2nd LNB picks up optus D2 at 152 E ??

No the Sky LNB is designed for a 4deg dual orbit location, (ie 156/160) to do what you want would not work, you could put another LNB on, however you would probably need to increase the size of your dish to fit them in.

Similar question here (abeit after extra channels off D1) - I can easily get all FTA channels from Optus D1 with the SR of 22,500 but nothing else on a different SR.
I'm trying to get some of the other FTA channels such as ABC(x) or Southern Cross with no luck.

I've got a 11500MHz LNB & using a Hauppauge HVR-4000 with MediaPortal.
