I have had this working in the past, and always remember having trouble getting it going and I am never sure exactly what I did - I recall prodding various options till it "just worked".

Is there a way I can manually force a reload of the EPG? It may be related to the fact that mediaportal somehow dropped all my channels and I had to rescan them.

Using latest tvserver rc2 and SQL express.

What tools can I use to reset the SQL express database? I used to use mysql back when there was no autoinstall script.

thanks

-When you installed RC2 it would have created a brand new database, that's why all you channels disappeared.
-See the wiki here for enabling EPG grabbing
-If you have Sky see the "EPG Only mapping" section here
-You can manually refresh the EPG by goign to "Manual Control" and press  the EPG refresh button but sometimes it take a while and it doesn't like to the watched ;-)

Further to this.  Next time you install an RC make sure you export your channel database first (in TV-Server) and during the installation if you go for manual install instead of express it gives you the option of retaining your existing SQL.
Thanks McRaeNZ you just reminded me about the hybrid cards.  I just checked and the RC2 install has wiped my hybrid card setup. (Note to self, redo the hybrid cards as part of RC install).Smile

EDIT:  When I configured the hybrid cards, the TV-Server continued to timeshift when MP was closed.  That meant the system would not go into standby.  I have deleted the hybrid card settings and the problem has gone away.  I reported the bug on the MP forum thread that has been started for this.  Hopefully a SVN will solve it.
