I have a new LG tv (couple months old)
Freeview has been doing odd things for a couple of days, you could be watching for TV2 for example, and you would have perfect audio from the correct channel, but the picture would be from another channel, and either frozen or a short loop of the same thing. It would come right after an hour or two.

Now I have a “no signal” message on all channels. The EPG is working fine however.

Can’t find any note of outages in my area.

Netflix, Freeview in demand, all the apps are working no problem. I’ve checked the cables and that’s all fine.
Sound like a TV issue rather than a Freeview one? It’s under warranty but I don’t want to call NL out and get lumped with a bill if I’m wrong.

Sounds like poor signal, not something wrong with the TV. Check the antenna and cabling.

I dragged the old TV out of the shed and plugged that in and got perfect signal. Still no dice on the LG after a retune so I restored to factory settings and now it’s working perfectly. The EPG is different to what it was previously, so maybe a glitch during a software update or something?

Definitely wouldn't put this down to a reception issue, seems very odd though. Have you tried LG's support? I mostly deal with Samsung and they have the ability to remotely diagnose their TVs when connected to the internet when it is available.

Only other time I've seen oddities is when the incorrect country is chosen at setup so the TV might look at different frequencies to what it should be looking at (though I've never replicated the issue you're having)

Pretty sure Noel Leeming will tell you to call LG and try them before taking it back

Edit: Regarding the EPG I have had an issue where it shows the wrong programme for that channel. Sometimes it flicks around when you're watching that channel, sometimes it just says the same thing no matter what. I also tried resetting but to no avail. Maybe it's pending a software update. My TV is a samsung for the record, not LG

It worked well for about half an hour last night and then started glitching again. I turned it off at the wall for a few mins and then it worked perfectly. I’ve changed the settings so it shuts down rather than sitting on standby when turned off and it hasn’t glitched since. Bit of an odd one. I’ll call NL if it plays up again, one years warranty goes quick!

I plugged the other tv in straight away when it played up and that worked perfectly so it’s definitely not a signal issue.

Don't let them fool you into thinking that you can only go back for faults for 1 year.

The CGA gives you a lot longer on a TV than 1 year.

Have you checked for signal level and error rate (quality)?
