Hi

I've changed my NAS / Mediaserver to ubuntu.

I'd quite like to setup the hvr2200 with plex or something else.

Does anyone know if the HVR2200 is compatible with plex and ubuntu?  Ideally I'd like to run it in my plex media server docker.

Thanks

google found me this | https://forums.plex.tv/t/troubles-with-hvr2200-and-ubuntu-server/198988 | i dont know if you could get this working in docker, i would go with LAN based device, then you dont need to worry about where the tv aerial are and just run LAN cable from device to switch and you can run plex in docker which i recommend.

Balm its gone!

IMHO you should just spend the money on a network tuner such as a HD Homerun.

I'm thinking exactly that. Hd homerun. Is there an alternative brand I should consider?

I use the HVR2200 with Ubuntu for MythTV with little/no issues

Should work out of the box with a recent release once you've got the latest firmware files.

I think Plex PVR can be quite picky re tuners etc, its not like MythTV or Tvheadend that will use anything with Linux support.

I use a HVR2200 with Ubuntu and tvheadend without issues.

The process of adding the necessary firmware is a bit of a pain from memory - there is a GUI tool out there somewhere that someone wrote that handles the process for you.
