Hi!

I cannot get the CPU load under 45-50% on Tv3, whatever I do. This is with EVR enabled. If I switch to VMR9, the CPU load jumps to 90% on TV3. Figures for all other channels are lower (lets say 5-10% lower). Does it mean I achieve HA if EVR gives me 50% (down from 90% under VMR9)?? Is this all I can get from the system ?? I have latest nVidia drivers (177.66 if I am not wrong...); Other posts here mention CPU loads in the range of 8-20% with similar video cards.

With some codecs it runs at 20%, perfect sound but no picture at all (black screen). What could make these codecs run properly and still maintin the 20% CPU load? The codecs I have are from the PowerCinema 5.1 disc (supplied with the Nova-T 500 card), free download (trial) of PowerDVD8 and various "codec packs" I found on the net. There are oppinions the "codec packs" are not a good idea as they are too "messy" (they install a lot of stuff you do not need or you cannot use) but I had to try.

I also found posts about the Twinhan drivers, I will give that a try (soon). By the way, there are so many downloads available on their site, which is required?

Does the video driver version have any relevance in getting HA?
Or it is something rather depending on the codec in use?

I have ffdshow, I do not use it, there are so many options in there... it really take time to play with all of them, I think. Is ffdshow capable to improve the performance? Do I need to reboot after every adjustment I make in ffdshow?

Last week-end I installed MP 1.0 RC2, same CPU loads. I had to revert back to RC1 as I could turn the volume down using the remote control, but it did not go up anymore... I checked the remote mapping settings, all looked right.

Are you actually getting a good quality picture?

Good picture except TV3, where is jittery and shows a slight "stepping" effect. It used to work better before trying to switch to RC2 (which did not work for me, so I had to un-install RC2 and re-install RC1).

PDVD8 was trial and expired, can this deactivate the codecs?
