Hi guys,

The best bet would be to ring Pinnacle - their number is 09 442 7396.

There is also a guide available for download at FirstIn (they're selling them today) - http://www.firstin.co.nz/resources/Pinnacle-Nano-Stick.pdf

Took me a while to get mine running - I didn't have the correct video codec.

Cheers

Hi there - my first post and yes I have recently tried getting channels with the Pinnacle Nano Stick. Have downloaded the Pinnacle H.264 and no probs finding 3,C4, Maori, Parliament.  It reas signal strength 100 per cent and signal quality 60 to 80 per cent.
BUT no sign whatsoever of the TVNZ channels. Any suggestions?

Hmmm - I have been able to pick it up without any problems with the supplied aerial. I am based in the Wellington CBD so it may just be that the signal strength here is good?

Originally I had to ring Pinnacle - I think I got transferred overseas somewhere - but I got there in the end.

Very happy with it!

Thanks for that - I will ring Pinnacle - in the meantime did you have any set up problems that they advised you on when you rang them in case they are the same as mine? Thank again

I didn't have the correct codecs - that was my main issue. Once I downloaded the right ones and set it up over the phone with them it worked OK.

Good luck!

Hi there, I could not get the Pinnacle USB tuner to work. so I have traded it for an AVerMedia USB DVB-T Volar X. It has tuned in all the channels to 100 per cent quality no problem. My only problem is that I dont have a separate graphics card and I think this why the picture skips a little on TV1. Also when I record into MP4 it plays back fine with the included software but not Quicktime ...anyone out there with solution would handy!  Cheers

Hi all,

I got mine to work by downloading the right codecs, and by using DVB to tune the channels etc. - I couldn't get the Pinnacle software to work correctly and almost gave up.

Simon - you might want to try downloading some codecs that will allow you to encode the video to the right format (not sure what it is off the top of my head). PM me if you want some help with this and I'll see what I can do.

Cheers

Are you getting a picture and no audio? If so it's because Quicktime is unable to play back the AAC audio used by Freeview|HD.

I highly recommend running GB-PVR, Media Portal or DVBViewer if you want functional TV viewing software, most of the software that comes with TV tuner cards is pretty basic.

Thanks for the replies and suggestions. Re mediaportal - I have had one go at installing but it didnt recognise my Aver Media USB Tuner... will try that again or perhaps DVBviewer. Cheers Simon
