i have a roof antenna but its connected to my mums tv and i don't wanna get a split the cable because where my room is located the cable would be in the way

i never watch tv 98% of the time there is nothing on i want to watch but i was given a small tv that has built in dvb-t that i wanted to use so what would be the strongest indoor dvb-t antenna i could buy for it

also i would just hook up a cheap android tv box i have and stream tv but its annoying to go to each website every or change app every time i want switch channels or watch something on another tv channel also there is no prime

I'd try something cheap but new if I were you. Most indoor antenna's are equally poor. If you have a strong enough signal inside for an indoor antenna to work, pretty much anything will work.

The nature of radio waves means that for an antenna to be "strong" it must be very directional which then makes it too big to sit atop your furniture, and fiddly to point in the right direction.

The answer is probably in your first paragraph, if you want it to be reliable split it.
Indoor aerials are a compromise why even bother when you have a proper antenna.

Distance is 29 km or so, unlikely any usable signal indoors in my opinion.

First rule of anything, use the right tool for the job.

In this case an external UHF aerial.

Looking at google street view of Mahia Road all the antenna are medium to high gain so an indoor one is unlikely to work.

What I did for my sister in law was get one of these https://www.trademe.co.nz/electronics-photography/tvs/terrestrial-receivers/listing-2306664430.htm?rsqid=8e31d9bb471e46dbbc130278c892db60-001 and tie it to the curtain rail, that worked ( she was in Mt Eden ) when she moved to Remuera it did not work ( house wired for sky ) so they stream everything.

You could try it but I think you will be wasting your time and money.

I use an Engel AN6009A 55cm antenna indoors attached direct to my TV. It is working for me inside at about 26km from the transmitter. It has an amplifier built in and can be turned on with DC 5V-24V. I have one here unsold because to top end protection plastic is broken during transit and it is no good outdoors. Contact me at DTV Solutions if you are interested.

Bought one of these Vodafone TV Gen 2 Intenet Freeview boxes the other day $179

Figured it would save me installing UHF or Dish on the roof - easy-as to set up and works with any decent internet connection via ethernet or any 5ghz wifi.

So far works very well and is a breeze to setup - not hooked to Vodafone account. Get basic freeview digital channels - and is very portable. I am getting Fibre but it still works great with my cable internet. The built in 500gb cloud recording storage is fine and will let you play freeview programs on any channels up to 3 days old. Has apps for TVOne and TV 3 on demand as well as youtube (works great) Plus access to Sky/Netflix/Lightbox etc (if you pay)

was a very cheap option as dumped my cable access to Sky in anticipation of the Fibre install. Doesn't let you plug in external hard drive or network stream from PC. But I have an android set-top box for that.
