I just found out today that for some reason my direct network connection from my T2100 with a Cat5E cable to my Vodafone HG659 is only giving 100mps plugged into LAN2. However, LAN1, plugged into the PC, is giving 1000mps. Is there a setting I need to change or does the T2100 only do 100mps?

Hi, I suggst the T2100 only as a 10/100 interface, why does it require more.

So the T2100 doesn't use maximum 1000mps?

Doubt it has the processing power to do anything with that kind of data rate. Typical 1080p video is only 5-8Mb/s often not even that, even 4k video would rarely exceed 25Mb/s, so once again, why does it need a GigE nic?

I'd suggest the T2100 maxes out at 100Mb/s and to be honest doubt the hardware would be able to process data if it came in that fast. To be manufactured for its price point I'd say it will only cope with the bandwidth 2K HD requires and that's about it as that's all it needs.

Even most TV's out there only have 100Mbps Ethernet ports. Even a 4K stream is typically to be sitting at maybe 40Mbps tops so there is no need to spend extra $$ building a product with higher cost networking hardware.

I found the old 659 often reported the wrong mbit lan connection speed in the webinterface.

I think its a glitch.

Anyway ask Vodafone nicely and they may send out a new ultrahub?

what do you need the extra speed for?

what are you trying to watch that needs more than 100mbps?

I misread the post. As other have pointed out not ALL equipment these days do 1gbit on their network ports.

I didn't know how fast I needed it to go. I thought it might be a glitch in the hub. I've had some problems with Freeview Plus today. I was getting a better and more consistent connection with WiFi which is weird.
