If I connect MySky HD via a Freeview box (i.e. using the loop connections at the back of the Strong Freeview box) will it affect the signal quality received by the MySky box in any way - and will it (MySky) still be HD?

yes, and yes.

Loopthrough is effectively a splitter, so it will decrease your signal level. You will still have HD as it has nothing to do with the sat dish itself, as long as you have signal + get pix, you should still have HD. If it doesnt work, you may need a splitter + to put the mysky on right leg of the splitter (i believe the mysky should have the power pass, but not 100% on that)
