Basically had fibre put on today and now most of the channels on Freeview are pixelating... We get occasional pixelation when it rains but it's not raining now.

As soon as internet came on through fibre it's been happening
Is this even possible?

Nope. It pixelates because your reception is crap, that simple.

Spark FibreMAX using Mikrotik CCR1009-8G-1S-1S+. UAP, UAP AC Pro, UAP AC Pro Mesh, Apple TV 4, Apple TV 4K, iPad Air 1, iPhone 6s, VodaTV Gen 2. If it doesn't move then it's data cabled.

Clearly something else has happened to affect your reception. Maybe the the UFB guys accidentally dislodged a cable or something along those lines. Recheck all your aerial cables etc.

Just seems weird partner was watching it fine all day. I came home setup the router to have internet and it started then.. better check all the cables and what not though.

If you have junk coax and things have been moved then it may be an HDMI or ethernet cable interfering with the signal on the coax, but firstly the cable has to be crap, and secondly the signal has to be really weak on that cable to be interfered with by normal cable layout. If you are OCD and have loomed your HDMI and coax up to the TV then that would possibly be a problem. Usually HDMI does it, havent seen ethernet cause problems but there is always a chance since gigabit does get quite close to the UHF band for frequency use.

So switch off the router and see if the issue goes away?

you didn't mention if you are on UHF or satellite, but going by your comment about rain problems, you may be on satellite. Are you using an old sky dish setup? If so you may need to get a new lnbf or get someone to fine tune your dish. Rain fade these days shouldnt be an issue exept on very rare occasions.

As Apsattv says, go into the menu and call up your TVs diagnostics, then switch the router on / off and see if there is any change in the quality level.

Hi, so the answer is yes and no, we need more information.

So you had fibre installed, where did they install the ONT (white Chorus router looking box) was it in the garage, was it in a closet, or was it behind the TV.

Next question, did the ISP supply a new router, or possibly its an existing router that as a result of the ONT placement behind the TV, you moved the router close to the TV

Tell us some detail around those two topics and we might have some more ideas.

Sorry for the late reply.

I am using a UHF aerial. The ONT has been installed right next to the tv less than a meter away.

Turns out it is definitely the ONT. If I unplug it Freeview is watchable with good signal strength. Once I turn it on the signal becomes poor and is not even watchable.

Wonder if there is a fix for this.

The router is an existing one and has always sat just next to the tv

Hi, I suggest you look at the dressing of the antenna cable behind the TV, especially how close it gets to the ONT, ie try move it away. Also you might need to get a better TV lead, the cheap ones from high street shops have little if any shielding, you would be better finding an antenna installer to make you up a new one ideally using tri or quad shield.

But first try decoupling the interference somewhat by adjusting the cable dressing

Edit: also what type of wall connector does the antenna connect to behind the TV, a picture purhaps

Haha I just moved the antenna cable about 30cm away from the ONT and the signal became strong. Pretty crazy. Hoping some extra shielded cable works cos now the cable is off the wall.

poor quality UHF cabling buy the sounds of it. maybe replace the patch lead
