Hey,
We have freeview running about 10m from an old sky dish which was fine until I put in a splitter about 3m from the dish to split to another freeeview decoder about 8m away. I used a new 2 way Hills splitter with "power pass all ports" and checked and re-checked that everything is in properly but now we have no reception on either of the decoders. Any ideas or help would be greatly appreciated! :-) Thanks!

You can try turning off LNB power on one of the receivers, if this fails to fix the problem it sounds like the splitter might be gone.

Hey,

We've the Hills splitter that came with the box, as well an another one that we brought as we though the fault might be witht the splitter but still no signal. After this we tried just putting a straight-through connector on the original cable, as well as making sure the connections were OK. I also check that the cable into the dish had not been moved and that the dish had not been moved either. I can't figure it out as it was working prefectly before I split it. Any other ideas would be great! Thanks :-)

I'm assuming you've attached f type connectors where you cut the cable to insert the splitter?
You can buy straight connecting pieces cheaply, look like straight threaded rod piece.
Remove the splitter and put one of these between the two ends and try each receiver to rule out any joint/cable issues first.

I assume that you have the correct LNB setup on both boxs and that there is no 22kHz tone active, this could upset the LNB and result in no output.

I guess you have tested with a f-f female coupler and bypassed teh splitter that the original setup still works.

Hey, yup I used f-type connectors but I'll try an old style splitter and let you know how I get on. Thanks for your help :-)
