We use to have a TiVo, but they are no longer supported so we cant use it again.

We are now looking for another recorder so we can recorded TV.

I use a modded Tivo unit and a Panasonic DMR-PWT530 .
I would suggest getting your TV modded as you are rather familiar with it.

The Panasonic has started playing up occasionally and would miss recordings or rather than record TV1 at 6pm would record TV1 +1 at 7 pm.

If you like your Tivo I'd just get it modded, particularly if it hasn't had a lot of use and unlikely to be suffering from capacitor failures.

Supposedly a good name, we've found Panasonics totally unreliable for recording, unless you hit the record button. Our solution was to get a modded Tivo and set the same schedule on both. When the Panasonic fails, Tivo has a backup, and makes its easy to skip the ads too. None of the Freeview-crippled units do that.
