Does anybody on here have Freeview HD or know of anyone in North Canterbury with it? I'm in Waikuku, have a good uhf aerial and receive crystal clear prime, maori tv etc...
I'm just wondeing what the reception is like out this way, any pixilation, picture freezing, sound drop outs etc as I know that good analogue uhf reception doesn't always translate into good digital reception???
Cheers

There's an even easier way to check

http://freeviewnz.tv/index.php?section_id=16

Which gets you to a google map api for checking coverage by entering in your street address.

I have a Sony 32W4000 using a 43 element UHF antenna up the road from Waikuku , just east of Sefton, have a clear view of Sugarloaf and get good analog reception (other than Cantabury CTV).

Had some TVNZ 1 reception issues in the extremely heavy rain last week, but I think that was the link to the transmitter on Sugarloaf Mountain. Didn't have reception problems with anything else. The TV reported the same sorts of S/N on TV1 as the rest.

I'd estimate I'm between 5 and 7 kilometers from any and all parts of Waikuku. Checking the intersection of Waikuku Beach Road and Stokes Road says 'Very Likely' for Freeview HD, which is what it reports for here. Mind you I did download the pdf map and squirrel it away, too.

Cheers for the replies. I've had a look at the websites previously and they say that I'm 'highly likey' to get reception. But it's always good to hear other peoples experiences.
