Some good news for freeview on Linux, it looks like Nvidia Purevideo suppert is being added to the Linux drivers.

It may not mean hardware decoding anytime soon, but at least it is a start.

They have now benchmarked the released code

Performance is seriously good, and they have patches available already for MPlayer.

Going to be excellent once this is integrated into MythTV and XbMC.
