Have just moved house and bought a Sony Bravia 40w4000TV with built in freeviewhd. Have a sat Dish on house (prob positoned for optus1but no receiver. Will i need one as just plugging in the aerial and auto tuning brings up check your aerial connection. If i do need one does this make my built in freeview redundant. I have also heard that UHF aerials produce a better HD picture than the sat. Is buying and installing UHF aerial my best option? Pease help as i have a shiny new tv with 2 fuzzy anologue channels dur to terrible reception and my standard but rather large roof aerial.

You need a uhf aerial to make use of your inbuilt freeview.

Hi,

as davidcole has already said, you need a UHF aerial for the Freeview HD services that your build in set top box can recieve. On the Freeview Sat service, there is no HD services so hopefully your in one of the 10 towns & cities that have the DTT service for your Sony and its HD goodness!
