We are budget conscious, but want a reputable brand and longevity in terms of "smartness". We have a satellite dish, but thinking of switching to streaming for everything. Would the above combo be a decent choice?

We watch Freeview live tv, ThreeNow and TVNZ OnDemand, and Netflix and DisneyPlus. Does the above combo cover our bases here?

We don't have Fibre available where we live, does this impact on things?

Thanks for help!!!!

There's a review on The Warehouse site saying bad things about the available app store for it and Disney not available. Personally don't know either way.

The TV itself looks good to me. Be prepared to add a Chromecast or similar.

What does speedtest.net show for your connection?

Don't buy a TV for its 'smarts'. Even if they are any good now, they soon won't be. Get an Apple TV or similar.

Yeah in terms of "smarts" this tv is already outdated. Linux OS not android. Can't download any apps. Netflix and YouTube built in but that's all. Thinking the Nvidia bypasses the need for that aspect?

It's a good brand, good specs visually, and cheap as. Hence why considering this tv with the Nvidia Shield TV option. Thoughts?

I don’t think you’re too far off the mark really. The only improvement I’d consider is to look at a pure monitor rather than a TV - especially since you’re abandoning the broadcast TV model. That way you’re purchasing image quality & that’s all, then plugging it into certainly one of the best set-top box products currently available. This way you’ll get the best experience without paying for redundant features, plus your upgrade path is clean & direct.

Perfect, good to know I'm in the right direction, thanks!

Next issue - thanks to the advice re: Speedtest. It came out as Upload 10ish / download 3ish!!!!  That's with multiple devices in use (2 x lappies, spotify on smart speaker, and tv currently streaming. No gaming.)  Eek!!!  It was upload 17ish when less of us were on, so still shit.

Off to hunt for better internet options! We only have VDSL as no fibre nor wifi options work for our location - we are not even rural!!!

Any tips re: better internet access, please hit me up!

Hi login to the modem and it will be there somewhere, also can you do the speed test via cable and ideally with all other devices not dragging traffic at the time ofthe test.

Thanks, will do. I thought that must be wrong as we regularly stream content with no major issues!
