I have an oval IPstar dish on the roof for a now discontinued sat broadband connection. Is this going to be suitable for freeview reception?
I realise that I may have to change from the sat BUC to a Ku LNB (or is the current unit going to work?), but in general, is the shape of the dish relevant? It is larger than my existing freeview dish, so I understand that it may offer better reception.

Pretty sure a reflector is a reflector,  there is nothing special about the metal in a Freeview/Sky dish...

The issue will be ensuring the signal strength reaching the LNB is adequate

Yes you can, you might need to improvise a mount for the lnb, other than that no issues.

Thanks guys. You're right, Cyril - I don't think the mount is suitable for a standard LNB :)

Info here suggests it already downlinks in the standard KU bands

Of course you will need to repoint it and set the l.o freq correctly but it has a good chance of working
