Hi guys

I have Vodafone TV which I like, but from what I read briefly - the service may be ending?

I am after an option to get TV live streaming without getting a UHF where we have fibre connection. Any good suggestions please?

The TV is brand new 2021 (android).

Thanks in advance.

skewt: I’ve used this setup quite a few times https://www.mjh.nz/2018/12/how-to-live-nz-iptv-channels-on-android.html?m=1

This works for me. TVirl. Super simple and ready to go compared to something with more features like Kodi.

Or a device with the tvnz Ondemand and the Ondemand apps.

Both support live tv. But to switch from day channel 1 to 3 means backing out of one app and entering another.

The other options here (and the Vodafone tv) would be a more tv like experience in that you can just cycle up and down the channels .

Not an Apple fan by any means, but hard to beat an Apple TV.  Kick myself for not getting one years ago.  Has the aforementioned apps.

Thanks guys. That android app looks promising. Will Vodafone TV continue to support live streaming when Freeview TV stops it’s service?

Insanekiwi: How about DishTV?

I have a DishTV SmartVu SV11 at my bach which is connected via fibre, and the Freeview live streaming works great. The TV there is "dumb" so the access to Netfix and other streaming apps is a bonus for us.

We previously had satellite Freeview but the SD picture quality was rubbish.

I thought so too until Apple removed YouTube from the Gen 3 version.

This is exactly what I am doing currently. Trying to set this up for our holiday spot. I think currently if the android app doesn’t work then UHF aerial install might be the best… but otherwise I will go for DishTV! It’s a shame that Vodafone TV will cease at the end of the year. I only bought it last year!
