As per the title I switch it on, it goes boot, middleware initialising etc, then sometimes it will allow me to click menu or library button but before I can do anything within those menus it just re-boots itself, and keeps re-booting. I have unplugged from the wall and left for 24 hours but it's still doing the same thing, help please!

First thing to do is to try another Power Supply. I've replaced many DishTV Power "Bricks", and every time the PVR works again.

Anything 12V 2Amps or more should work.

Do you mean the power cord?

Isn't it powered from a 12 Volt Power "Brick"? - Not 230V direct?

Hi, I tried another power supply from a set of speakers and yes it does work! Thank you so much for your help.

Presumably the original power supply is only fit for the bin?

Thanks again

Hi again,

It appears I spoke too soon, while the different power supply initially worked and I was able to delete stuff from my library (I didn't try watching anything I'd recorded though), it's now doing the boot loop again! Any more suggestions please?

Is the Power Supply 12V / 2 Amp or Greater? (Preferably at least 12V / 3 Amp from memory)

The original power supply was 2.5A and the second one is 2A

2A might not be big enough? Don't want to give false hope though.

I've had multiple failures with power supplies with DishTV products. Replacing them with higher rated ones always worked for me.

I don't think I've got anything else with that sort of power supply that I could try?

Are you a Dish TV tech?

Would you recommend that I buy a new power supply?

Thanks

Not DishTV, but an ex Radio / Electrons Technician.

Only you can answer the question re buying a new power supply.

Video surveillance camera type ones are "generally" reasonable and relatively cheap.

So I would need something that is at least 2.5A as per the original?

I'm unsure what you mean about video camera type ones, do you have time to give me a couple of links please?
