hey guys, i have previosuly used mediaportal and had no issues whatsoever. i installed the latest version yesterday and picks up all channels from transponder 12483 perfectly however i get no channels from the 2nd transponder and no EPG data. i can add the channels manually and they seem to work fine but would much rather have the settings picked up from the satellite. can anyone shed some light on this situation?

cheers

Just checking the basics. Under EPG on the server are the channels selected to collect EPG? I think the default was to collect EPG for all detected channels in the past but now it isn't.

Also you can disable EPG collection on particuar TV Cards under the server name section in TV Server Config so check there as well although less likely if some of the channels are working.

Haven't touched that in ages. Not sure how EPG works there any more. Any reason not to go with TV Server? Most of the dev goes into that now so wouldn't be surprised if there's a few weirdities popping up.

The service is damn stable now. In fact any problems I have are undoubtably with the front end now days so if that was the concern before then it shouldn't be anymore.

I use MP + TV-Server, but from memory there is limited tuning info in MP (standalone) you may need to edit the satellites file in the tuning parameters folder to include the relevant frequency.

But as above, the better option is with the MP TV-Server combo.

I'm using TV Server with MP clients and tonight I also noticed the lack of EPG data for TV1,2,3 and C4!  It has been stable for quite some time but just within the last week I have had to "Refresh" the EPG data at least twice now.

Cheers Mike

Strongly reccommend you upgrade to TVServer. It's much better and most of us will be able to give better support. :)

ok so the issue of EPG data was my own stupid fault, BUT you guys could have told me to make sure "collect EPG data from DVB" was checked in the config!!! its working perfectly now and the issue of not collecting channel data from transponder 12456 ive had to resolve by adding the channels manually :(

I've been using MP for a long time and have noticed that since about RC2 the DVB-S EPG is not updating automatically any more.

I have played around with the EPG settings in TV Server but made no difference.
I have to remember to do a manual refresh every few days.

I have since installed a plugin which schedules a full EPG update at 5am and this seems to be working so far.
