Hi I have 2020 Samsung tv and Freeview app nothing working just says streaming, was looking for on demand shows but app has no controls and just goes to current tv stations and can't exit app have to turn tv off to exit don't know what's happening. Checked for software update and apps automatically update so don't know what else to do perhaps will have to get in touch Samsung tomorrow unless somebody here has any ideas.

I could be wrong, but I don't think freeview does on-demand anymore, I think it is now just a live TV streaming app.

This is why I don't rely on 'smart' TV's, support for apps inevitably ends far to soon.  Get yourself a Fire stick or Apple TV.

Lazy is such an ugly word, I prefer to call it selective participation

Freeview site indicates that Samsung will 'soon release' a ThreeNow App.  The TVNZ+ one has worked fine for a year or so.

This is the Freeview streaming live app is what they updated to on my Samsung tv but absolutely terrible looks very blurry (like low definition) almost looks like recording when you watch plus one channels also just no controls to exit have to turn tv off.

@Rickles .Can't see anything on Freeview site about releasing tv 3 now app have had tv one app for a while.

Do you use apps to watch content on your TV? - Freeview (freeviewnz.tv)

Select Yes I use Apps, select Samsung as TV brand.

@johny007g ... of course, one could side-load the current ThreeNow app.

Don't think you can as Samsung tv use Tizen operating system not android, I'm no hurry maybe Samsung get there act together and put out app.

I must add that on Dec 12th when turning on Samsung TV, the old 'FreeviewOnDemand' app icon had gone and the 'Freeview Streaming TV' one had replaced it, so assume at least some automatic installs are happening.
