Son has brought smartvu streaming device to connect to his monitor. It will start show up on monitor then screen goes blank.
Have tried and succeed to connect to a tv.
Is it possible that this device won't work on a monitor? Any suggest what devices would work on a monitor? Thanks

FWIW
We have been running a SmartVU+ A7070 and SmartVU SV11 daily on a Samsung 27" 1080P monitor in our motorhome since they were introduced.
Faultless performance so far.

The monitor going blank after showing something is typical of what happens when the output of the device is incompatible with the monitor's capabilities - typically, the monitor blanks to prevent damage from being overdriven by too high a clock speed, or it blanks because the screen layout does not match anything it can handle.  My guess would be that the monitor is only 29.97/59.94/60 Hz capable (US standard) and the SmartVu is outputting 25/50 Hz NZ TV frame rate.  There may be options in the SmartVu to get it to convert to a US standard for its output, but the results will not be very good normally - typically you will get judder in panning and other similar artifacts.  If the SmartVu can play video files, try downloading a US frame rate file and playing that.  NZ TVs typically are fully multi-standard and will work with TV from anywhere in the world.  Monitors sold in NZ are often only 60 Hz capable.
