We have two of these that have both failed (at different times). Any recommendations on repairers in Auckland. We are North Shore. Yes we have Sky, Netflix and the free streaming services but TiVo and VuDuo are just easier, faster to initiate, rewind etc and better at skipping ads. Your recommendations will be appreciated.

Don't know of anyone to recommend but if it has an onboard power supply I would suspect the capacitors (~$25 from Jaycar) have gone - based on how my Duo2 crapped out when 6 years old.

What I purchased for the Vu+ Duo2 repair (probably not Duo) -  might be useful to someone thou:

4 x 1000uF 25VDC Low ESR Electrolytic Capacitor
CAT.NO: RE6328

4 x 470uF 25VDC Low ESR Electrolytic Capacitor
CAT.NO: RE6326

2 x 1uF 63VDC Electrolytic RB Capacitor
CAT.NO: RE6032

1 x 100uF 400VDC Electrolytic RB Capacitor
CAT.NO: RE6156

Thanks for that info, it's a Duo but I think you are correct regarding capacitors, my poor eyes and dexterity determine that I should place the repair task with a professional.

Here you go This is/was a common problem easily fixed. The Vu Duo is ancient though

Thanks for that, it's not the "red light" issue, I have corrected that in the past. It relates to power supply voltage and likely is another cap or three.

They are ancient but great image support and excellent useability.

Thank you for taking the time to assist.

Although Samxons shouldn't be terrible if possible I'd go for a higher end brand cap like Panasonic or Rubycon.
