I have read other posts about problems with Intelsat 19 which partly help.

I have changed the dish to 100cm, added a new triax 10750, changed the skew to 9 still only get 70/10

Has anyone been successfully getting it working?

I had used D2 prior with no problem

I was a little confused given you said "70/10" so was thinking that may be download / upload speed. But suspect this is TV related.

Feel free to prove me wrong and I'll move it to the right place.

70 = Signal strength

10 = Signal to Noise ratio

I have not played with Satellites for a few years now.

You may still need to tweek the skew of the LNB to get the SNR up, you cant be that far off.

Once the dish is approximately aligned, it's just a matter of fine tuning it. Move the dish left/right up down a few mm at a time, let the signal settle for a few seconds and recheck. Once that is at the best level, do the same with the LNB skew - again, use small movements to adjust for peak signal.

The question should be what are you trying to receive? what service what frequency?

That should be easy to get, if you are moving a dish from D2 the lnbf skew is quite a bit different for Intelsat 19

also you should be able to load all these other  H pol  signals

12644 H Sr 28504 Fec 3/4 DVB-S
12686 H Sr 30000 Fec 3/4 DVB-S2
12726 H Sr 28054 Fec 3/4 DVB-S

If you think you are on the right satellite, also try a blindscan

There lies the problem. I have a scanner/monitor that can get D1 and D2 (when it existed) but can only now get 70 quality and 25 strength (But on briefly)

I have a number of phone apps that indicate direction plus provide details, still unsuccessful. Thats why the question about LNBs and if there are some better than others?

You need a bit more than a phone app to align the dish on the sat though. That will get it in approx the right direction, but you still need to properly align it and the LNB as above

if you mean you have a needle type satfinder? there's another satellite parked at 169E that you might be picking up, also one at 172E

Try the other freqs as above, if you think you are on the satellite try a Blindscan and see if it loads ANY frequencys

Make sure LNBF setting is set to 10750 to match the LNBF and LNBF power is ON

Manually add the 12606 H as both V and H pol so if your skew is far off   you might hit it in Vertical

Also the D2 satellite  is still there NO change

also one last thing, its not weak, it can load and play fine on a 45cm!

Hi Guys

Success at last. Sat 19 was very close to D1, (to the left of on the pole) skew was 6. I used www.dishpointer.com  to give a basic direction.

Then I used my Sat finder monitor  see example (note I did change settings for Sat 19)

So thanks for your input.

Case closed

Phillip

Did you load all services though ?

you should also see several channel 9 australia feeds on the vertical

12591 v sr 7200

12600 v sr 7200

12609 v sr 7200

12549 v sr 4280 Fec 2/3

If you can't see these then you have more adjusting to do

Slightly off topic – but anyways.. Any decent content worth watching on these feeds? Ive got an old 96cm dish on roof from IPStar/Farmside days – A change of LNB and a re-point sounds like a fun, weekend something to-do. Cheers
