Is anyone doing this successfully? Our new tv (UA43DU8000SXNZ) can't seem to do it. I've tried different flash drives, external HDD etc but the manual says "not available in all areas" so wondering if it's available at all in AoNZ?

 

I have a Panasonic HDD recorder but it's a bit rubbish

Are you trying to record Freeview? usually you will need to format the evice via the tv set itself. Which will enforce some type of DRM on the recordings, that make them only usable on your own setup.

 

Mind you I could be wrong it wouldn't surprise me if they had disabled recordings via drm flag. To force you  over to TVNZ+
