Hi,

Are all D1 Transponder files on the net the same for New Zealand?

I have BlazeDTV that came with an external USB DVB-S tuner, but it doesnt have Optus D1 on the satelite list.  I downloaded one, and put it in the satelite folder, but when selected and tuning, it didnt pick up any channels.

any ideas?

if Optus B1 is there, try that.

otherwise a satellites.xml file might work, but I'm honestly not too sure.

I wish I hadnt bought t his bloody thing (the USB DVB-=S tuner, LME DVBS BDA), its such a hassle trying to figure out whats wrong, if its the satelite file, the signal, the program etc

its picking up signal strength at over 60%, yet quality stays down around 6%.  no channels found during scan.   AGH!

i want to use Media Portal, but the TV Server Configuration keeps crashing on me, the folks over on the media portal forum are not much help.

This is what I'm using which includes all of the Sky (including HD) and Freeview transponders.

I know that some BDA drivers are terrible at signal strength and quality and MP will just be reporting what it's being told. I've got a Technotrend S2-3200 and Hauppage HVR4400. The 3200 reports 80% quality but the HVR reports 100%. They both come through the same satalite dish and splitter so go figure.

Gut feel if MP is crashing on scan is that the driver is crap. I've had heaps of issues with drivers for both my cards but have finally settled on a version that seems to work OK. That doesn't really help you but also might explain the lack of help on the MP forums.

I'll try that satelite detail and see what happens.

MediaPortal used to work with my internal DVB-T tuner, its a weird error. it doesnt even get to the tuning stage, just when i double click on the icon it just hangs for ages then a error box pops up with about a page of info.

the guy i bought the device off, said i need to install the TV Pack 2008 updates, but in order to do that, I need a clean install of Vista.  further reading tells me thats just for windows media centre, so if im not using that, i shouldnt really need the update should i?

As long as you're running one of the older Sharp LNB's, that's fine... Do you know what model it is?

change the LOF2 from 0 to 11300, it looks like you're not actually getting lock according to that second screenshot.
