May give us more PVR options than Zinwell PVT-640 or TiVo.

Article mentions Beyonwiz FV-L1 and Topfield TF7050HDRt

Anyone know if they will work in NZ?

Means nothing at all for NZ.

All Australia is doing is launching the Freeview Brand for it's Digital FTA platform. They are also launching a MHEG5 EPG to replace the existing EIT based one which was transmitted individually by each broadcaster. MHEG5 offers lots of cool new features such as series link that were a hack before and hard to impliment using EIT.

Aussie is still using MPEG2 unlike the MPEG4/H.264 we are using here in NZ so no hardware will work unless it includes support for both codecs.
