Hi all

I have a $199 DSE receiver. I wish to muck round and try see if I can get other tv stations from other countries either using the current satellite or tuning in to others. How do I do this, or is my DSE receiver locked to 1 satellite?

Cheers

Hi, the DSE (aka Zinwell) DVB-S recievers run firmware that is locked to only receive FreeView services on Optus D1, you cannot get them to freely tune to any other services.

Yep, a Strong or Topfield is of superior build, costs less and is a normal FTA receiver, so can tune to anything thats not encrypted.

where would one purchase a Strong or Topfield? Its about time i got Freeview. I have both a UHF and a dish on my roof, but unsure which to connect to.

UHF gets HD, but dish might get other channels? What other channels?

The force is strong with this one!

It really depends upon where you are and also I believe mainly upon dish size, orientation, LNB etc...

Hi, PM me for quotes on Stongs and Topfields. But as dfajk says all depends on what dish/dishs you have, there are potentially hundreds of channels, but you would need a dish farm to see them.

Personally if you are after FreeView, and image quality is what counts, then FreeViewHD is the go, what area are you in, I presume one with DTT coverage.

No, sky control what you can view on their STBs, there is no facility to scan transponders at will.
