I was funnily enough watching some great New Zealand Televison last night, Stars in Their Eyes at 8:30pm on Tv1. I caught the end of Coronation Street and saw that the 'One' Network stamp (Top Right) on the picture was not there. Started to watch S.I.T.E and this HUGE 'One' stamp was on the screen! It was incredibly noticable and it was just distracting me for the whole program.
After that piece of New Zealand Televison History had finished, Marc Ellis was on with his show 'How the Other Half Lives', and again like in Coronation Street, there was no logo stamp on the picture.

Just wondering if anyone else was annoyed like I was and If anyone knows why it happened?
Cheers

They can't beat C4, I'm sure they are trying to cover the entire screen with bugs (and have some strange dislike of transparent logos)

They are trying to be "Cool, Hip, Trendy, etc, etc" and use TXT talk on their titles, Obviously some old suite at a board meeting thought might be a really niffty idea to try and relate to the younger audience Wink

There are two people I would like to have a chat with; the person who designs the software for controlling traffic lights and, the person who thought that station bugs were a good idea!

I have many questions for both but especially the latter e.g. what where you thinking!!!

Cheers Mike

I caught this also and was appauled by the size and the location (I have a display that has overscan and it was still miles within the frame).

And while we're at it, top right of the frame FFS! What are you thinking TVNZ?
At least TV3/C4 have the good sense to place the bug on the bottom of the frame where its unlikely to obscure peoples heads.

Some smarties at TV2 must have thought the English laungage was too good for presenting their ads.
Whats next? Or should I say-Whats NXT?
Will TV2 start to abbrevate every word? So will Shortland Street now be Shrtlnd St? Who knows

I suspect they were having issues with their equipment that overlays the 'bug'. The huge logo may have been on a temp unit.

They haven't used the gold colourisation of their logo for some time now (5-6 years) so I would guess that their main equpment was down and had to use a backup.

Watching tonights programming on Tv1, and they have moved the position of the bug again!
Now its moved over further to the right of the screen and moved down a bit aswell (Im surprised that people using a 4:3 Aspect Ratio can still see it properly).
Its even more noticeable now as you can see the bug on people's fore-heads!
Get it right TVNZ!!

This is the network who on their supposed "Professional" nationwide news continually calls children "Kids" (ie: baby goats) and reports assualts or attacks as people getting "Bashed".  I've also seen an interview where the journalist literally said "So what do you's guys think"?  Maybe it was "Ewes" and they are obsessed with the farmyard?

What has happened to the Queen's English and the good old NZBC days?  I guess they have decided the NZ public are stupid and they have to dumb everything down?
