Hey all,

I have freeview on my TV and was looking at getting a TV Card for my PC.  I seen a few cards that could receive freeview and would like to know, if I bought one of these cards, would I have to install a whole new satellite for it, or is there some way to split the cord coming from the satellite into two so I can plug it into both decoder and PC card??

Thanks for your help
Springa.

yes, you can do this. One box must power the LNB (in your case the STB will work nicely for this) continuously. Make sure that if you have a splitter, the non powered device (probably card) has all the LNB power settings turned off, failure to do this can fry your card if you're unlucky.

As long as you're only viewing freeview, this should work nicely. The only difficulty comes when you use different polarities, but with freeview it's all on horizontal, so won't be an issue.

Great, thanks for the reply.  I was just wondering, what the splitter is called??  If I was to go to an electrical store, what would I have to ask for?
