HI All ,

I am currently running Sky and a Hills DVB-S Box , with a Splitter . Power Pass to Sky box. The main problem i keep having is i keep loosing the Freeview connection. I have tried turning off LNB Switching which gets the Freeview going again. Only to discover a few days later that i have to re prorgamme the Sky Box again . Which takes about 20 odd mins each time , if im lucky.

The Sky box has a ADSL connection, and the Sky dish has Dual LNB . Any ideas on how to resolve the issue of re progamming the sky box each time i want to watch Freeview. Its getting rather frustrating.

current settings on the Sky Box are LNB On , Switching Off , 10750 ,  Sky how ever has a tendancy to change the settings back once i have changed them.

Cheers

Hi, its odd that the Sky box keeps changing its setting, not normal at all, however maybe you have it set incorrectly, it should be as shown in the document below, under 10750.

Ok , Followed instructions , and have only managed to get TVNZ channels only . Its really strange as , the box has a mind of its own. Last night it worked perfectly before any settings on the sky box where changed, Yet in the morning . Could not pick up any picture but could see the time stamp and the programme details . I reset the settings on the DVB Box and only picked up TV NZ channels , yet no picture, Yet after a period of 20 mins a Picture would come through, and be able to see TVNZ channels only. I cant search and pick up TV 3 and TV3 plus one ,

Reetting the box isn't necessarily going to help unless you enter the 2 frequencies concerned, 12483 and 12456 MHz, 22500, FEC 3/4 and scan those. You are most likely picking up the Sky transponder for TV1/2 as this frequency is entered into the set top box by default.

As for the picture disppearing are you sure that the MySky box isn't on standby in which case it would switch off any voltage going to LNB and hence the freeview box would stop working.

Spark Max Fibre using Mikrotik CCR1009-8G-1S-1S+, CRS125-24G-1S, Unifi UAP, U6-Pro, UAP-AC-M-Pro, Apple TV 4K (2022), Apple TV 4K (2017), iPad Air 1st gen, iPad Air 4th gen, iPhone 13, SkyNZ3151 (the white box). If it doesn't move then it's data cabled.

would it be better to run a Splitter that has Power Pass on both Ports with the Sky Decoder , having the settings , LNB On , Switching off , 10750 ? or just a Power Pass to the Sky Decoder with the same settings?

Hi, the settings I showed in my document are the correct settings, dont use others, that said it should not effect things. One way to sort it is to put the power pass port of the splitter to the FreeView box and dont turn it off or into standby. Otherwise get a diode steered power pass to both port splitter.
