Hi,

Inherited a 32 inch LCD, and am looking to install Freeview UHF.  The house has an old Sky UHF antenna, but it is old and we get none of the UHF channels.  We also have a dilapidated VHF antenna which we get a marginal picture from.  We are looking at getting rid of both and just getting a single UHF antenna with Freeview.  The Freeview website suggests coverage is likely with a high antenna (we are in the Wellington's Eastern suburbs).

Anybody have any recommendations for an installer?

P.S. Also looking forward to the Freeview PVR reviews and actually seeing boxes other than the Zinwell for sale.

Hi there,

I have no experience with any installers per say but here is a link (http://www.freeviewnz.tv/products/retailersandinstallers), to certified installers, just scroll down the page to the "Find an installer" part and select Wellington press find and you will be displayed with a list of the Wellington installers.

Let us know how you get on as I will be going down exactly the same route as you come Xmas.

Cheers.

maybe send Cyril7 a PM? He did a good job at my parents house. Not sure if he'd travel that far or not.

OK, I just went on the Freeview website and picked Goodfellows as they are based in the eastern suburbs.  The man came around today, and managed to get our old Sky UHF antenna working (installed a power supply).  He also removed a bunch of other coax that was snaking around the place in the guttering (a previous resident probably ran it so they could have TV in the bedrooms).  We now get much better reception on our VHF channels, actually get reception on UHF, and also have Freeview!  Cost for sorting out our antenna was $160.

There are other members who are Freeview installers here - I was just too impatient and didn't wait long enough to respond - sorry Brunzy
