hi people!

i have a problem with my hills decoder, i have a satellite dish with a splitter box with a cheap chinese decoder on one end and my hills on the other, everything works fine including my hills freeview approved decoder when the chinese decoder is powered on, when the chinese decoder is turned off at the wall the hills decoder drops signal and says "Check signal cable" i searching for channels but get no luck i have tried different LNB frequencies and i am stumped, just to be clear i get perfect signal from the hills box only when  the chinese decode is turned on, i have a hills 2-way splitter.
any help would be appricated.

many thanks, joe

Check your splitter to see what power passing options it has on it.

and that your hills decoder is lnb power to 'on'.

Can you just bypass the splitter and connect the Hills directly to the dish?
