It probably would be sufficient. It's easy to believe that bigger (higher gain) must always be better, but sometime the opposite is true.
There's some good information on aerials on this website: http://www.aerialsandtv.com/aerials.html. It's a British site, so any transmitter-specific information is irrelevant to us, but the basic principles are the same.
