Hi

I spotted the mesaage from garryk
the other day while searching for info to get my HVR300 working abd it seems WinTV 7 is not a good option
so I gave this a shot.

I'm successfully getting all the Freeview channels off Optus D1 (at 160E) running a Hauppauge HVR3000 under GB-PVR. (I find GB-PVR "miles" better than the WinTV that came with the card).

My LNB LO is 10750MHz since I'm using the (new type) SKY-installed LNB that was supplied when they installed a dish to give me Prime service (free) off satellite, since I can't get it terrestrially.

Anyone getting any other FTA channels other than those on "Optus D1 (NZ FTA)" (eg off Optus C1 or D2?). Am trying to workout how to turn on the other LNB, which I understand should be able to pick up signal off satellites at 156E.

Having followed all instructions I got the Opus D1 sat into GB-PVR and the channels list showed up and mapped fine,.. it all looked great till I run PVRX2 and tryed to watch live TV,.. it jus blinked,.. so I checked out the TV guide, the channels are all there but all have no data errors..

DVB-SLNB Setup

LNB LOF1 (Mhz):  10750
LNB Switch (Mhz): 0
LNB LOF2 (Mhz):  22500

DiSEqC:   none

If I use media center TV One, Two, Maori TV and a couple of others are missing but the rest work if I go way down tyo channels 114, 115 etc

My machine is  an intel 3gig Duel-core 4gig ram and a 9800 series Nvidia grapic's card runing 64bit win7 newish install so not much on there

Not sure what I missed

Hi

A wee update:

I just went back into PVRX2 and the TV guide has the listing data now
But live TV still just blinks and if I select a channel its just a black screen

The other LNB is switched with the 22 KHz tone switched on, which I guess is the second item in you list. LNB LOF2 should also be 10750 at a guess. The symbol rate (SR) for NZ fta is 22500 incidentally. The 2nd LNB will only give you a test card for Aurora as all the other channels on Optus C1 are encrypted. Optus D2 is at 152E.

Changing LNB LOF2 to 10750 made no difference,..

I'm beginning to think it's the decoders or codec's as the only part not working is the display when I pick view from TV Guide when I select a channel.

I'm not sure if live TV goes straight to a channel or not and maybe if it does thats why it just blinks and does nothing

Just out of interest have you tried Windows Media Centre. The setup is easy and it works really well. If you do not want to use it long term, it could still be useful for testing.

Media Center works it took 2 days for some of the channels to show, I just have to scroll way down to channels 114, 115 etc as theres no mapping and the movie list display is 2 by 2 1/2 inch coloured blocks with the file name in large letter across the block that don't fit,.. there is no layout setup in it and you have no way to fix it. The layout in XP's version of media Center at least gave thumbnails the Win 7 version doesn't and looks cheap ugly

I have been using Win7MC from the beta with the HVR3000 & Optus D1 and i have never come across any problems with scanning the channels and viewing the EPG.

When scanning the satelite i had to use the custom LNB settings (10250, if memeory serves) for the Sky Dual LNB otherwise i would not get any channels.

I have a duel channel multi Freq; LNB on a 1 meter dish, I got this way back when one service was H and the other V but I found out that they where both going H in the end so it worked out well at getting both Freeview and basic Sky on the one dish,.. then I got mysky and they would not use my dish so now theres 2 up there and I can use the 1 meter to supply 2 freeview sources. it's all working cept I can't get GB-PVR to work and I'd like to use that as it much a nicer interface than Win7 MC

My movies will fix the movies being blocks although I find that the MS download of info works well as long as the movies are named logically.

the GB-PVR forums are pretty helpful.

I use GB-PVR with an HVR-3000 on Windows 7 and have no issues recording stuff. Admittedly I don't use it for Live TV, I prefer DVB-Viewer for this. The first thing I'd test is whether you can record, then you can see if the problem is actually the recording of the files or the playback.

I just re-added the card again, and it worked right away. Admittedly my card is a bit old and broken, so can't record very well these days...

Its recording stuff and I can play it back as long as I use VLC but I can't use it to watch TV and I was looking to use a media center to bring it all together so didn't really want to have to shut one media center down and open somit else to watch Tele,.. my thought was that a media center was to stop the need for that,.. Windows Media Center is working too I just feel it lacks customizing tools.
