Hi all, just installed Windows 7 Ultimate on my netbook.
Apart from the obvious speed increases I can for some unusual reason watch HD 720p on my netbook, but even more interesting is that I noticed the EPG data was there, IN BAND!

My internet was switched off, so can't have been from there. Maybe it's just a trial, for the record: I'm trying it in Palmerston North.

As you can see the data isnt avaliable for long, and is only on TVNZ channels, eg: TV ONE, 2, TVNZ 6, & TVNZ 7.

Freeview

Also, it features standard record, and Series Record. Has anybody else noticed this?

I'm pretty sure this is standard Freeview HD EPG behaviour. It is coming from the EIT EPG info table.
How many events ahead are you getting info for?
I usually get about 3 or 4 events ahead, and usually only that many on Mediaworks. There are also allocated time slots (without any program info) on Mediaworks for a good dozen or so events ahead.
TVNZ only gives me, at most, 2 events ahead - which looks to be the same for you.

Now+Next show data has always been carried in EIT.

the 8 day EPG has never and will never will be EIT data for Freeview|HD.

All EPG data is carried in MHEG5. If yuu want to know why Google it - there are a significant number of different threads on here that discuss the issue.

If you want an EPG on Windows7 use BSE.

A couple more clarifications. You will only get data, in channel groups, when you are watching one channel in that group. eg as in your above example if you watch TV ONE you will get now/next data for TV ONE, TV 2, TVNZ 6 and TVNZ 7. If you watch TV 3 you will get data for TV 3, C4 and TV 3+1. Yes you can set up series record but it will only work if you have watched one of the channels recently enough for it to have filled enough data for the next showing - effectively you have to have watched the previous program slot to be sure it will work. You could also program a manual, channel and time recording and I "believe" it will store the EIT data when the recording is made, so at least it will show up in your recorded TV with some useful info. As sbiddle has said, the best way to get a full 7 Day EPG with a DVB-T only setup, is via Big Screen EPG - still free in Beta form until March I think, though that may be extended again...

Or if you have a satellite dish handy you can install a DVB-S card in the computer and get access to the EIT data off the sat service. This can then be mapped to cover the terrestrial/HD channels as the content/start/finish times of the main channels is the same on both platforms.

You're not offering an EPG in a format that can be used with Windows MCE.

Yes, indeed I did. I also recieved permission to use the TVNZ 6 & 7 listings too, a bonus I guess.
A bit annoying with TV 3 & C4, they haven't responded to me at all!
