Hi all,hey I'm looking at getting a DVB-T card for freeview to run through my desktop and hooking it up to my TV through the HDMI input. Can some one recommed me a good card for the the system specs below. cheers thanks for your help.

CPU AMD64x2 4200
RAM 2x1GBDDR2-800 Corsair DHX
MOBO GA-MA770-DS3
HD's WD 36G Raptor|Seagate 1TB Barracuda
PSU Corsair VX450W
OS Win 7

Your best bet is a Hauppauge HVR2200 or Nova T 500. These are both dual tuner and offer pretty similaur results, the main difference being the HVR2200 is newer and is PCIe rather than PCI.

You also don't mention what sort of GFX card you have. To have HDMI output you'll need a GFX card that supports HDMI or DVI and a DVI->HDMI adapter.

Hauppauge Nova-T-500 Dual DVB-T card which should fit into one of the two PCI slots that motherboard has.

Windows Update has drivers for it so install and setup is easy.

You need a GFX card that does H.264 hardware acceleration.

I know some models of the 8800 do and some don't, somebody else can probably provide a little more info on what the different models are.

Yea its a GeForce 8800GT-GV NX88T512HP I just checked and it will support H.264 so looks like I'm good to go.Thanks for the help

If it's a "GT" which is the Nvidia G92 it should be fine, it's just the older GTS aka G80 that didn't have full H.264 acceleration.

GPU-Z will tell you about what chipset/model you have
