I have a 42 inch lcd tv with a built in freeview HD tuner . i was wondering how i would set it up to go digital . i currently have analogue only channels . i get 1 2 3 prime and maori tv and they are all good quality for analogue . i was just wondering if i have to realign my uhf aerial in order to pick up freeview HD channels

Where are you located?

If you're in a Freeview|HD coverage area and get an OK picture on Prime and Maori TV (both UHF) odds are you should be able to pick up Freeview|HD now.

Im in wanganui
it says unlikely when i do a test on the freeview coverage map but i get good prime and maori

Given you live in  Wanganui then you would know that there is no DVB-T transmitter covering the area. Logic would then say that if I were to receive DVB-T then I would have to point my antenna at a transmitter that actually transmits it.

you can't just point antenna towards transmitter can you? there is no arrow!
plus he lives in wanganui so there is no freeview HD possible whichever way it 'points'.

Some Wanganui people receive Freeview HD from Wharite.

Where in Whanganui are you?
Are you up on the hills or down in the crack, ie springvale/gonville/aramoho etc?
