Started getting drop outs in the afternoon on Prime & C4 on hot dry afternoons in Christchurch, anyone else getting this. I'm in Prebbleton all the other channels are fine.

Ok all you guys with these reception problems: get yourself decent aerials with decent signals. All these dropouts are caused by regional variations and conditions.

Sooo sorry for not meeting your standards there mate, dam the ol " Mr know it all " routine gets bit old on forums these days don't ya think?

Anyone else care to add something worth while?

What wiring do you have?

If it's RG59 I experienced the same issues, upgrading it to RG6 seems to fix the issues :)

I have moved across the ditch. Now residing in Melbourne as a VOIP/Video Technical Trainer/Engineer.

Yea good quality RG6 and decent aerial, I've seen signals drop like this due certain times of the day and weather patterns so pretty sure its something to do with that. It settles down to a perfect picture about 7pm eg sun down. Just really seeing if any other peeps in my area are seeing the same thing. Cheers man

Maybe you can tell us what your analog looks like, channels of interest are CTV on channel 44 @ 44 dBW and Prime on 62 @ 64 dBW. As you can see Prime is way more powerful than CTV so should be completely noiseless to the eye in Prebbleton unless you are using multiple splitters. DVB-T power is 47 dBW.

Spark Max Fibre using Mikrotik CCR1009-8G-1S-1S+, CRS125-24G-1S, Unifi UAP, U6-Pro, UAP-AC-M-Pro, Apple TV 4K (2022), Apple TV 4K (2017), iPad Air 1st gen, iPad Air 4th gen, iPhone 13, SkyNZ3151 (the white box). If it doesn't move then it's data cabled.

I have the same problem and it happened again today as well. (In CHCH / East side) Later in the evening signal is back to perfect.

I can't put a good outside antenna up because I'm renting, so left using crappy indoor units. Doesn't seem to matter which ones, both amplified and non preform the same for me. Really would love to have a proper antenna though.

BTW, anyone know of a place in CHCH that sells something like these:

I'd really like to try one out, both for size and reception. Was thinking I could put it in a closet or garage. Don't want to order it from auckland and then find out it doesn't work well for my location.
