Hi Guys

I bought a TEAC HD-86T freeview set top box yesterday with full anticipation that I would have HD quality TV when I get home on my 42" Samsung Plasma TV, as currently I can only receive TV1 clearly and blurry TV2 and C4. But nothing, it could not locate any service. I can see a SKY dish on my roof but no UHF aerials, the cord seems to have been cut off?!

So, I need some help here guys, should I buy a cord to connect with the SKY dish and change my territorial set top box to a digital one or should I install a UHF aerial on my roof? If one is selected, what other things I need to buy, spliters, cables, mast etc?!

Thank you all in advance!
Nick

That decision is only you can make. If you go for Freeview satellite you will not get HD, that's only available on terrestrial.

If you don't have a UHF aerial your Freeview|HD STB isn't going to work, you're going to need to get a UHF aerial installed first.

Thanks, so I decide to go with UHF, what sort of cabling and connectors do you think I'll need?

I'll be completely honest and say your best bet is to ring up an aerial installer and get somebody to come and install an aerial for you.

If you are doing to attempt a DIY install your first job is to get an aerial and mounting pole which needs to be securely attached to the house. You'll then need RG6 coax and F connectors which to be professionally installed need a crimping tool.
