I've had a Ultraplus Satellite Freeview Receiver for the past two months and everything worked fine until 3:30pm last Saturday when it suddenly stopped displaying live TV, saying that it couldn't find a signal "No Signal (Tuner 1)".

Recorded shows play fine and the problem seems to be confined to watching live TV.

The satellite was installed two months ago which is when I also bought the receiver. How do I diagnose the problem so that I can complain to the right company?

If you mean that two different companies are involved , then you either ned to borrow
a receiver , or take yours to someone with a working dish , so that you can eliminate one or the other

Hmm... I guess I was hoping that there would be some easy trick to it but your suggestion makes a lot of sense so I'm now doing that. I've asked around various friends to see if they've got a Freeview Satellite setup so that I can diagnose it.

No problem.

Unless you are familiar with the LNB settings , or confident you can get back to the original settings ,
it would be easier if you find a friend that has the same value local osc LNB as you , as you may potentially add another scenario to the mix

Thanks everyone. I ended up taking the box to my brother-in-law's house and it was fine (not a single glitch).

I called the dish installers on Monday and they came out to fix it promptly, saying that the LNB was broken and it was the first time they'd ever seen that type of fault happen.

(for a few minutes the installer had blamed us for squashing a cable until we explained that the cable was completely unrelated and that, infact, the cable was fine - ha!)
