vlc player seem to work fine watching all channel sometimes tv3 may pixalte but its only for a split second and only happens about every 10mins

i love vlc player but hate how i want to record c4 or c42 but it records everything on mediaworks mux is there a way around this to just get c4 to record

because when i use other app they always pixalte crash say i have no signal ect

ive used cyberlink witch was the best one did pixalte but not much sometime it would work fine and could record all night and the recording would be fine

sage tv just would record anything i was watching and then it sometime would crash changing channels and it pixalted alot

dvbvewer mediaportal gb-pv tyed these to they were all the same eg pixalte crash say i have no signal

i want to know why vlc player can work 100% 99% of the time and if there is a way just to record 1 channel at a time thanks

This is usually one of two things
 * High CPU load
 * Poor reception

If there is a slight reception issue this will usually show up as corruption.




Generally known online as OpenMedia, now working for Red Hat APAC as a Technology Evangelist and Portfolio Architect. Still playing with MythTV and digital media on the side.

You have actually stated that VLC sometimes pixilates for a split second so it isn't OK.

Once reason why VLC is behaving better than your other tools is the additional work the VLC team have done to play damaged streams that would otherwise crash the player.
