Hi

I'm very new to this stuff, so bear with me.

I got a Zinwell ZMT 620-HD today.  I plugged HDMI to my HD TV, and my UHF cable into the wall (and into the STB).  I had used the UHF to get great TV1, 2 and 3 reception just straight from my TV to the wall.

I get into setup and go to autoscan the channels.   It scans them all, but adds no channels!  So it's not showing anything!

Anyone had similar problems?

TV1, TV2 and TV3 are all nomally on VHF.

Are you sure you have a UHF aerial? Do you get Prime or Maori TV?

No, we don't normally get Prime or Maori.

Does this mean that chances are we don't have a UHF antenna?

Damn.  Anyone had any experience with taking a STB back?  I'm in a flat, and don't fancy paying to get UHF installed.

What's my best move for taking the STB back?

I could take a stab and say that you don't have a UHF antenna but that's only a 50/50 guess. Only seeing your antenna would help anybody.

As for taking it back I guess it depends where you purchased it from and whether they consider not wanting to get an aerial is a valid reason for a product return.

Just drop into HN / Dick Smith etc and get yourself a HF aerial for $100 - $160 and replace the one on your roof.
When you leave the flat, take it with you.
