Hi there,

I had a UHF aerial installed last year for DVB-T freeview, but I'm having ongoing issues with signal loss.  The technician who installed the aerial wasn't on the list of freeview approved installers (silly me - though I would just get the closest one in the phone book) and offered to install an amplifier, but I lost confidence in his ability to sort of the issue and decided to postpone things.

In any event, I'm in Hamilton on Kahikatea Drive and back onto Gower Park - there are some tall trees (and the Hospital) which impede my line of sight to the Te Aroha Tower.  I'm not sure if I'm close enough to the Hamilton Infill tower - the previous tech wasn't aware that it even existed.

Can anyone recommend a competent installer to troubleshoot my reception issues? I'm hoping that all I need to do is something simple (like change from horizontal to vertical polarity to tune in the infill signal) and/or install an amplifier.

Cheers,

Kevin.

I would recommend calling Bill from Rainbow Connections
http://rainbowconnections.co.nz/

I think he specialises in satellite dish installations (which I had installed), but also does freeview UHF installs.

I have always used 'Hus" from New Tech Installations Ph 0800GETHUS (0800438487).  Very profesional & friendly service.  Doesn't muck around...just gets the job done.    I think he does just about everything relating to TV or home theatre wiring.

Has installed a couple of aerial set ups for me now, and on the last one solved a Freeview issue I had at that time.   Wouldn't hesitate to use again.

Lazy is such an ugly word, I prefer to call it selective participation
