I installed a freeview and box a few years ago. Really easy process it worked well. In that case I was using a basic hill box and an Engel Ku Band Universal LNB. I have since moved house.
We are now installing it at a new house, using parts purchased from the freeviewshop, but I can't get it to work.
I am in greytown. The dishes Elevation is approx 40 degrees and Azimuth is approx 318 degrees, to get an approximate fix, before making fine adjustments. I have also adjusted the LNBs skew so the wire is at the '8 oclock ' position as shown in the instructions. The dish has a clear view of the sky, as it is installed on the roofing, and surrounding houses also have dishes, pointing in the same direction and angle
The freeview reciever I have, which is a basic DTV one, identical to http://www.jbhifi.co.nz/tv-lcd-led-plasma/media-players/dtv/satelite-receiver-sku-17754/
The dish and LNB I am using are as follows

I don't believe there is any problem with the receiver, as it boots up fine. I do also have a signal meter, and it is able to power the signal meter. However when the signal meter is connected to the LNB and receiver, whatever adjustments I make to the dishes elevation and azimuth, the needle doesn't alter. Also using the built in signal meter on the freeview receiver, this also doesn't alter, and shows 0 zero strength and 0 signal quality. I do also have the freeview receiver LNB setting set to 11300 , to match the LNB. I have also tried all other settings. I have also tried connecting the receiver directly up to the LNB, rather than using the receiver, but the receivers signal meter still shows 0, and a blind scan picks up nothing.
Anyone have any idea what could be the problem. I suspect they have sent us a faulty LNB (DOA), but unsure how to test it. It can really only be the receiver or the LNB that could be the problem, but becuase the signal meter works (powers it) when connected to the freeview box, I doubt it is the freeview box.
