Hi

Just moved into a new unit. Whoever lived here previously had the TV Coax Outlet and Phone Jacks installed in the most random annoying location. They are quite a far distance away from where I've got my TV setup and across on the opposite wall of the lounge.

My partner isn't very keen on me running extension cables across the lounge skirting boards, and they wouldn't work anyway as it would have to pass a two door frames as well.

I don't believe there is anyway of getting underneath the unit to install new jackpoints, and I'm not sure if my landlord would be very keen on that anyway.

I suppose I can buy a WiFI adapter for my PC but previous experiences have always led to poor performance, minor lag spikes and the overall speed doesn't compare to ethernet.

I'm wondering what my options are here to get my modem and tv connected to these outlets?

Capping above the skirting and around the doors?
Lift carpet and install underneath?

Hi, lifting the carpet is not as silly as it sounds, if you go about it the right way it will go back with the same tension it went down, place the cable up against the wooden nail block that the carpet grabs and you wont see it nor will it get damaged so easily.

To get a carpet layer to come and retention it (few minutes work) is a small price to pay, may even get it done for a dozen of his favorite beers. All the carpet layers I know love beer.
